Her peers refer to her as a lawyer’s lawyer. Perhaps this is because Jennifer Rossi is one of the best prepared lawyers in the courtroom.
Recognized as a skilled trial attorney with nearly 25 years of experience, Ms. Rossi founded her own law office in West Hartford, Connecticut in 2010. In recognition of the high regard in which her peers hold her, Ms. Rossi maintains Martindale-Hubbell’s highest peer-review rating of AV Preeminent, which she has held since 2012. In addition, Ms. Rossi has been selected as a Connecticut Super Lawyer each year since 2013. In 2015, Ms. Rossi was named by Super Lawyers as one of the Top 25 Women lawyers in Connecticut.
Ms. Rossi primarily focuses her practice on all phases of litigation, from intake through trial, involving business litigation, construction litigation, and personal injury matters. Throughout the course of her career, in various state and federal courts throughout the country, Ms. Rossi has handled, and continues to handle, a variety of litigation matters, including those involving: breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duties, partnership disputes, fraud, unfair and deceptive acts and practices, shareholder derivative actions, violations of various state and federal statutes designed to protect consumers, construction litigation, and personal injury cases, including wrongful death.
After completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Connecticut in 1992, Ms. Rossi attended New England School of Law in Boston and obtained her Juris Doctor in 1995. She commenced her legal career in Boston, Massachusetts, working for a boutique litigation firm. It was there that her trial skills were primed by a few of the best trial lawyers in the Commonwealth, teaching her valuable lessons that she has carried with her over the course of her career.
Thereafter, Ms. Rossi had the opportunity to work at prominent litigation firms in Boston and Atlanta as an associate and then as a partner. When she returned to Connecticut in late 2006, Ms. Rossi worked for a mid-sized regional firm where she chaired the consumer financial services team of that firm’s business litigation group and served as a coach and trainer in that firm’s in-house trial training program.
Ms. Rossi is licensed to practice law in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York. While she maintains her license to practice in Georgia as well, Ms. Rossi focuses her practice on multijurisdictional litigation before the state and federal courts of Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York.
Ms. Rossi has written and lectured extensively on trial and litigation subjects. She was a key lecturer at the Connecticut Bar Association’s annual meetings for three consecutive years. In 2010, she was asked by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy to join its faculty to teach trial and litigation skills to other lawyers. Ms. Rossi also taught an interterm Moot Court class at the University of Connecticut School of Law as Adjunct Faculty in January 2015.
In addition to managing her law practice, Ms. Rossi volunteers her time with various organizations, including the Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services in New Haven, Connecticut, where she served as a Cultural Companion to a refugee family for six months from September 2017 to February 2018. In prior years, Ms. Rossi volunteered her time at an elementary school in West Hartford, Connecticut, managing Morning Announcement Script Writing at the school for six consecutive years, serving as a room parent for five consecutive years organizing classroom and grade-level events, co-chairing the school’s annual International Night event which celebrates the cultural diversity of the students and their families, and participating in Positive Learning Team meetings and activities developed for students in an effort to reinforce positive learning at the elementary level.
